After four long years of waiting, fans of R&B superstar Frank Ocean finally got their insatiable craving for new Ocean music satisfied this past weekend when Ocean dropped the visual album Endless and then dropped his third full-length album, Blond, on iTunes. Not surprisingly, the whole internet has been buzzing about the new album and fans have been in a frenzy as they post about the records. And the Frank Ocean effect doesn’t just stop at fans; it also seems to extend to other artists because last night rap legend Kanye West went on a Twitter rant about why Ocean’s music needs to be supported.

In his latest rant, Went took aim at the radio industry and explained that radio should reflect the interest of music fans, who are obviously enamored with Ocean, right now. West explained that radio stations should be playing multiple tracks from Ocean’s album to support good music and even a “better world.”

“If anyone at radio really loves music … Come together and pick your favorite Frank Ocean song and play it at least 10 times a day,” West wrote, before tweeting, “Every station across the globe. I Heart. Clear Channel local stations. Satellite. Every station. This will make the world better.”

West then explained that he’s not the only rapper who listens to Ocean’s music and that music fans need to empower artists like Ocean who make great music. “Me and Drake both listen to Frank. Radio has to support amazing artists,” West wrote, before adding, “Ask yourself Why did you love music in the first place and what can you do to add to the story.”

He finally finished his supportive rant with, “Power to the people. Power to the artist. Empower the artist and create a more inspired world.”

Well, radio may not be playing as much Ocean as West would like, but fans certainly are streaming and buying Ocean’s album because Blond is expecting to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week with equivalent albums sales of  225K to 250K units sold.

Congratulations to Ocean on the success of his amazing new album.
