Errol Barnett recently joined CBS as a correspondent and television anchor. Prior to joining the network, he was an anchor and correspondent for CNN International in Atlanta, Georgia.
For a time, he was based out of Johannesburg, South Africa in the capacity of general assignment correspondent. While there, Barnett hosted the award-winning cultural affairs program Inside Africa. Travel and reporting also took him to various African countries including Ethiopia, Madagascar, Morocco and Senegal.
He covered the murder case involving blade runner, Oscar Pistorius, as well as illegal mining strikes in the area. Barnett also reported on the ailing health of the now deceased President Nelson Mandela. He also provided breaking news to his audience regarding events like killing of Osama Bin Laden.and its aftermath, as well as the Chilean Miners rescue. For his extraordinary work, Barnett was profiled in GQ South Africa.
The Path
While still an undergraduate, Barnett was a correspondent and anchor for Channel One News and ReelzChannel. He was also a boardmember for the Black Journalists of Southern California.
