In a new interview for Black Enterprise, Draya Michele reflects on life after reality TV, motherhood and wedding planning. Though the 31-year-old rose to fame during her stint on “Basketball Wives LA,” she wants zero parts with the cast or crew. “I don’t listen or talk about it at all, and my friends and family, they know not to even go there with me – don’t question me about it, I don’t know what’s going on, I don’t watch it,” Michele told Mara The Hip-Hop Socialite, for Black Enterprise.

She said, “So I like to keep that away, as far away as I can because when I hear about it, or even when I think about it, or even when I watch other reality TV shows, and I just see people going through drama, I just feel really, really bad. And it takes me to a place that I’m very far away from, and I don’t want to be back into.” On the flip side, Michele revealed she’s “still very close” with pal Angel Brinks, despite their very public falling out last season.

Meanwhile, Michele, who recently got engaged to Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick, couldn’t help but gush over life as a mother. As previously reported, the reality star turned entrepreneur welcomed her second son, Jru Scandrick, on Friday, April 8, in Burbank, California. “Oh my gosh, everything is so great with him. He is an amazing baby; he is a great baby. He’s a big baby – he was born a little bit early, and he wasn’t small at all from it, so he’s big for his age. I love being a new mom all over again; it’s really fun. I have a lot of help from my big son [13-year-old Kniko]. I would say he looks pretty much, Orlando is going to kill me, he looks like me,” she added.

As for the pair’s wedding plans, the Mint Swim creator revealed they’re “taking their time”: “No, we’re still taking our time. This is my fiancé’s comeback year from an injury, so we want to just make sure everyone is in a great career position before we go through with planning all of that stuff because we’re both very busy right now. I just couldn’t even imagine adding wedding planning to my already full plate.”

Considering the couple’s rocky romance, we don’t blame them for wanting to take it one day at a time. What are your thoughts on Michele’s blatant dislike for “Basketball Wives” and putting their nuptials on pause? Sound off in the comment section below.
