In the span of 25 years, Angela Bassett has proven many times over the old saying that “Black don’t crack.” During that timeframe, she has gone from playing Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s mother in Boyz in the Hood, to playing his sister in the current season of “American Horror Story.” And no offense to Gooding, but many would not be surprised to see her playing his daughter sometime within the next ten years or so. As amazing as Bassett’s timeless beauty seems, there may be one woman who has her beat in the age-defying-feat department.

A sixty-year-old woman is doing well and resting after giving birth for the first time to twin baby boys Sunday night. Doctors say Claudette Cook beat all the odds.

“I cried. I was like, you know, you look at TV and you see other people in the delivery room and you’re like, oh my goodness. And, it was me. So, joy, it was so sweet,” Cook told NBC News affiliate WFIE while holding her husband Ross’s hand. “Everything changed in that moment. Once they’re born, your life changes.”

The twins are also healthy and happy. Isaac and Isaiah were born on Sunday night, each five pounds, almost a month before Cook’s due date, after a C-section birth.

“Isaiah came out first, and Isaac came out second,” said Cook.

Last year, Cook and her husband decided to start a family, but they knew they’d have to deal with a few bumps in the road. She met her husband, and father of her children, ten years ago in church. Cook was told repeatedly that she would never have children due to her age.

“Age is but a number with God,” Cook said. “Plus, I was healthy and in shape. I was like, yes, I know I can do this. I know I can. No matter how hard it was, He brought me through it all, so, awesome God.”

It will be a couple of weeks before the couple will be given the green light to take their boys home.
