Twitter users take issue with media mogul Oprah Winfrey, following comments she made in disbelief at Donald Trump’s win on Tuesday. Nov. 8.
Though the 62-year-old admitted disbelief over the election’s outcome, it appeared she had a change of heart after watching the president-elect’s meeting with President Obama mid-week.

Though Winfrey went on to explain the sudden optimism, writing, “I could sense, maybe I’m wrong, but I could sense from Donald Trump’s body language even when he came out for the acceptance speech, that brotha has been humbled by this world thing.” Fans began to express their disappointment in Winfrey’s brand “new, new” point of view.

No @Oprah we’re not going to take a deep breath, love you but with all due respect, the hatred that man has released won’t touch your life. https://t.co/CNjOnCSuoW

Despite the backlash, Winfrey stuck to her guns. “I just saw President-elect Trump with President Obama in the White House, and it gave me hope,” the popular TV personality told “Entertainment Tonight” on Friday, Nov. 11. “To hear President-elect Trump say that he had respect for President Obama, it felt that he had reached a moment where he was actually humbled by that experience.”
She added: “To hear President Obama say that he has renewed confidence in the peaceful transition, I think everybody can take a deep breath. Everybody can take a deep breath now!”
