No other Black female celebrity has been more supportive of President-elect Donald Trump than his longtime “Celebrity Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault. However, that support for the divisive president-elect, who spent much of his campaign spouting racist, xenophobic and sexist rhetoric, has come at a great personal price to Manigault, who recently shared that she lost relationships with friends and family over her support of Trump.
According to reports, Manigault recently spoke about the personal turmoil she’s experienced because of her love for Trump and she shared that many of her friends have cut her off because of her connection to the controversial political leader.
“There are people who stopped talking to me,” she said. “It has been a very long, lonely…One of my bridesmaids, a woman who was going to be in my wedding in the Spring.. I will never forget the people who turned their backs on me when all I was trying to do was help the black community.”
Manigault then points her finger at the Black community and claims that other Black people have been threatening her life and disrespecting her online.
“It’s been so incredibly hard. I was called every single racial slur in the book that you could direct towards an African-American by African-Americans,” Manigault said.
Well, Manigault may have lost family and friends because of her support of the extremely conservative and divisive president-elect, but what she may be gaining is a place in Washington, as previously reported by fellow RO scribe Mo Barnes.
“I was literally just standing next to him on the stage and just bawling. I don’t remember a word he said. We were live on air. I just remember Mr. Trump saying to me, ‘Are you ready? Are you ready to come with me to Washington?!’ I was so proud of him,” recalled Manigault about standing on stage with Trump after he won the election.
Well, what do you think about Manigault’s comments about being iced out by friends and family. Let us know in the comments.
