Nick Cannon calls BS on Mariah Carey’s recent romance with backup dancer

Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon isn’t here for Mariah Carey’s “fake” relationship.

During a radio interview on “The Howard Stern Show” this week, the “America’s Got Talent” host sounded off about his ex-wife’s new relationship with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, suggesting that it’s all for her reality show.

“That s— is hilarious,” Cannon said before adding that he’s cool with the romance “as long as she’s happy.”

“First of all, I think the whole reality show is fake. I’m a producer, so you can’t have a well-lit private conversation. Like, that s— doesn’t happen,” he explained. “I don’t buy none of that s—.”

If you’re playing catch-up, viewers of “Mariah’s World” were introduced to her romance with Tanaka, shortly after news of her broken engagement to billionaire James Packer went viral.

Despite his comments, Cannon went on to insist there’s no beef between the pair — his only issue — the pop diva’s “soap opera”-like love life. “That type of stuff doesn’t bother me because we’re in it, that’s the type of world that we’re in, but when you start trying to pull a fast one on people, that s— is silly,” he continued.

“They like, wrote the story!” he alleged. “That s— is like a soap opera, like, ‘The billionaire doesn’t know, and here’s the handsome young dancer.’ ”

Despite criticizing Carey’s newfound love, the rapper-actor — who shares twin children Monroe and Moroccan with the superstar — admitted he’s still got love for his ex-wife. “She gave me two amazing, beautiful gifts. We talk every day,” he added. “I love Mariah. I’ll never stop loving her.”

If you ask us, he’s sure got a funny way of showing it. Meanwhile, Carey has yet to respond to Cannon’s claims that her relationship is phony baloney.
