Maurice Harris, 19, has been charged in a quadruple homicide on March 30, 2017, one of the bloodiest days in the South Shore (Chicago) neighborhood. Emmanuel Stokes, 28, and Edwin Davis, 32, were fatally shot inside Nadia Fish and Chicken restaurant. Two other men, Raheam Jackson, 19, and his brother Dillon Jackson, 20, tried running away from the restaurant where their mother worked, but they were also fatally shot. Raheam was found lying next to a tree and Dillon’s body was found just outside the restaurant.
The shooter’s dad, Jerry Jacobs, 37, was fatally shot on March 29 about a mile away from the restaurant.
Within a span of 12 hours, on Thursday, seven people were found shot to death within a four-block area of the South Shore neighborhood. Nine people were shot altogether.
Chicago Tribune reports at least 740 have been shot and there have been at least 140 homicides in Chicago, the third-largest US city.
