EAT

Home Burger Bar

Yum yum. That’s all and you are done.  Do you want a hamburger? Well, one of the main reasons you should visit Fox Cities is great tasting food. I am not kidding and this is definitely no public service announcement. Owner. Mandy Ferg is full of energy and is a genuine hospitable spirit. It is no wonder the name of the joint is Home Burger Bar. I could not stop eating the fried pickle chips and the PB&J Burger is definitely a favorite.

Timshel Cafe

Grab a coffee, tea, or sandwich at Timshel Cafe. This eclectic venue is prefect to grab a nosh. You will marvel at a brilliant design aesthetic. Nestled in Neenah, Wisconsin, the hotspot is oozing with style. I was so busy enjoying the decor that I forgot to eat … well not really. Prepare to people watch and just be. I could have spent hours gazing at the intricacies and the installations of decor.

STAY

CopperLeaf Boutique Hotel & Spa

Cozy and comfortable, that’s the ticket.

CopperLeaf Boutique Hotel & Spa | Appleton, Wisconsin

The CopperLeaf Boutique Hotel & Spa is centrally located in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin. There is simply no other accommodation that will provide you direct access to the flea market, the festivals, food and fun. Drinking is mandatory and part of the fun while visiting this quaint city and the CopperLeaf will be your refuge and oasis for recharging and revitalization. The jacuzzi in the spa was magical after pounding the pavement and dancing in the streets. Oh, and did I mention, you are just steps away from Home Burger Bar (ask for The Hangover; it will get you in gear for more music and more fun).

PLAY

Mile of Music Festival

The raw talent and sound that awaits you in Fox Cities this summer will tickle your ears. Artists from around the world descend upon this gem of a city for the Mile of Music Festival, August 3-6, 2017. This festival is live. Be the first and amongst genuine entertainment. Who knows who you will bump into. Last year, I had the pleasure to sit and talk with Grammy nominated singer, songwriter Cory Chisel. Chisel is a rootsy folk style artist with a rich spirit. Chisel passionately boasts an avid love for helping other artists maximize skills and to achieve their dreams without the help of the big recording labels. Prepare to fall in love with this festival. Unbothered down to earth people and not a fluff fest, just plain ole good music. Point your navigation toward Appleton, Wisconsin.

The Appleton Flea Market

Who doesn’t enjoy a flea market? Take in the sunshine in Downtown Appleton. Fresh flowers, fruit and artisans to meet. Ok, the secret is out of the bag! I am thrilled that I beat you to the punch and grabbed my masterpiece by Lynn St. Aubin. Every intersection and corner of this region is a celebration of originality and represents the purest form of the American spirit.

Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass

The beauty of the lake surrounding the museum will put your mind at ease.  This part of America is breathtaking. However, the best artistic expressions in Wisconsin are tucked behind the doors of the Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass. Spend an afternoon marveling at the attention to detail in the works of glass. Drifting through this museum is amazing and educational. Jump into the glass studio and put your hands to work in creating a beautiful jewelry pendant.
