Angela arrived in Virginia on the slave ship named Treasurer in 1619, a short time after the privateer ship the White Lion stopped at Point Comfort, Virginia. Angela was a servant in the household of Captain William Pierce and appeared on the Muster Roll of 1625. The discovery was made when Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists, in partnership with the National Park Service, were digging on Pierce’s lots in New Towne.
