Tamar Braxton has been hospitalized after suffering a bad reaction to flu medication.
According to TMZ, the former talk show host was on the go, promoting her recent project, Bluebird of Happiness, when she began to feel ill. After cancelling several public appearances, the news outlet reported that the singer was unable to speak, forcing her to seek medical treatment.
Multiple outlets report that the “Tamar and Vince” star had a severe reaction to a drug called Prednisone, a steroid prescribed to soothe her throat. Shortly after taking the meds, the 40-year-old experienced swelling, which became so severe that it resulted in her being hospitalized.
In case you missed it, the reality star took to Instagram, where she asked for prayers, also revealing that “#thisbluebirdisNOThappy.”

As fans may recall, this certainly isn’t Braxton’s first health scare. In November 2015, the singer was hospitalized for severe blood clots in both of her lungs — a condition that ended her run on the hit competition series “Dancing with the Stars.”
“I mean, I’m just so elated,” Braxton told the ladies of “The Real” at the time. “And I just feel so blessed to come out of the hospital. Because, you know, the realization is that, you know, a lot of people don’t come out of the hospital with multiple PEs [pulmonary embolisms] like I had.”
Braxton added that she feels “blessed beyond measure.”
“I’m just so excited that I was one of the few people who got a chance to come out of the hospital, come on!” she said. “I mean, you know, honestly, God is so good,” she continued, thanking friends and fans for their support.
Although there’s no official word on Braxton’s current condition, we are sending her our well wishes. Show her some love in the comment section below.
