Marlon Wayans
The 45-year-old White Chicks actor attended Howard University and dropped out by his sophomore year to pursue an acting career. This proved to be a boss move with the success that followed his departure. Wayans went on to be a screenwriter, comedian, producer and successful actor with a number of hit films. His most renowned work includes his sitcom alongside his brother, Shawn Wayans, and starring in a series of Scary Movie films.
Laz Alonso
Laz Alonso not only studied at the historically Black university, but he also dedicated time to giving back to predominately Black institutions, including his alma mater. The actor, who’s starred in films such as Stomp the Yard, Jumping the Broom, Detroit and more, partnered with Home Depot to provide renovation funds to HBCUs. A number of institutions received funding back in May, while Alonzo served as a celebrity judge for the Retool Your School initiative.
