Legendary actor Laurence Fishburne is ready to pull the plug on the marriage to his longtime wife Gina Torres.
The “Black-ish” and Ride Along star and his wife of 15 years called it quits last year, but the actor officially filed for divorce on Thursday, TMZ reported.
Torres, 48, who starred on “Suits,” said in a statement this September that they had split last fall.
“There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected,” she said in a statement obtained by the New York Daily News.
The couple said they would remain a united front for the sake of their 10-year-old daughter, Delilah.
Fishburne, 56, came to fame in the 1990s with the critically-acclaimed movie Boyz N the Hood and his Oscar-nominated role in What’s Love Got to Do With It, which also starred Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett. He also received acclaim for his role in The Matrix opposite Keanu Reeves. He and Torres married in 2002 in a ceremony at New York City’s Cloisters Museum.
Rumors of the pair’s split began circulating last year after Torres quit “Suits,” citing personal reasons.
“My personal life needed to be tended to,” she told the New York Times.
Fishburne has two other children from a past marriage to Hajna O. Moss — Montana, 26, and Langston, 28.
Montana sparked controversy in 2010 after she declared her desire to star in a porn flick.
