As the year comes to a close, Americans have been given more evidence of the racist and hateful nature of President Donald Trump. According to a report by New York Times, Trump made racist statements against Haitians and Africans while in a meeting at the White House.
When discussing immigration at the meeting that took place in June, Trump spoke about the 15,000 Haitians who were sent to America. Trump told those in the meeting that Haitians, “all have AIDS.”
After being notified that 40,000 Nigerians had been allowed to enter America legally, Trump said, “if they had seen the United States, they would never go back to their huts,” in Africa.
The report was leaked by someone who was at the meeting and confirmed by others who were briefed on the meeting. The White House has denied the report, but Trump’s history of racist views and bigotry makes the report believable. Trump’s entire election was built on a racist lie against Barack Obama. Trump lied about Obama being born in another country and millions of racist White people followed him.
Trump realized that poor, uneducated, and racist Whites would follow him and he has always used words to cater to his base. He wants to shape an all-White America and limit the power of “others.”
Unfortunately, America does not have a law that would force racist political leaders to leave office.
