The president of the free world just put the finishing touches on a hate-filled weekend of tweeting by bashing billionaire Oprah Winfrey — who is worth a lot more money and is a more successful businessperson than he is — during her “60 Minutes” roundtable discussion of the frightening levels of political animus in this country.
Donald Trump’s self-created Twitter storms this weekend also included blaming the FBI for the Parkland, Florida high school shooting massacre that claimed 17 lives (The media learned that the Department of Justice, which oversees the FBI, was aware of Nikolas Cruz’s severe mental sickness and intentions months ago).
Trump’s vituperative Twitter rant against Oprah took place as she returned to Michigan to discuss the current sociopolitical climate with the same members of the electorate she did last fall. Of course, the panel was critical of the 45th president of the United States and his policies. Trump was watching the “60 Minutes” special — and was steaming the stitches out of his surgically-repaired hairline. He accused an “insecure” Oprah of being flagrantly “biased”:
Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!

Winfrey, who is most often referred to affectionately by her first name only, was mentioned as a potential 2020 presidential candidate last month after delivering a jaw-dropping, show-stopping speech at the Golden Globe Awards that inspired a rousing standing ovation.
Unfortunately for her vast fan base, Oprah reiterated that she does not plan to run for the presidency — or for any office for that matter. And, unfortunately for fact-seekers and those who like substance to accompany hysterical Twitter rants, Trump failed to provide the public with what Oprah has said or done that will be exposed. Of course.
Meanwhile, Oprah remains resolute in her decision to abstain from politics for the foreseeable future.
“I don’t have the DNA for it,” Winfrey told InStyle last year. “That’s not for me.”
Winfrey appeared to reaffirm that sentiment last week.
“Because if God actually wanted me to run, wouldn’t God kind of tell me?” she said on “60 Minutes Overtime.” “And I haven’t heard that.”
