It looks like former NBA star Lamar Odom has survived the complete wreckage to his life caused by the avalanche of misfortune (some self-imposed) that barreled down on him all at once a few years ago.
Sober, somber and seeing clearly for the first time in years, Odom is finding he cannot just submerge his feelings for his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian. And this is rubbing current boyfriend and soon-to-be baby daddy Tristan Thompson the wrong way.
A center for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thompson’s anger is ratcheting up as Odom continues of Kardashian in interviews with major publications of late, the latest with Access Hollywood. Kardashian and Odom’s relationship ended years ago amid a blizzard of negativity, including Odom’s uncontrollable drug and alcohol abuse, rampant infidelities, his exile from the NBA and the death of his father.
Odom also nearly died during a drug binge and overdose at a cathouse/brothel outside of Las Vegas and has been in and out of detoxification centers ever since.
Sources told HollywoodLife that Thompson is very much annoyed by the fact that Lamar is still “hung up” on Kardashian.
“Tristan wishes Lamar would stop talking about Khloe because they have been over for a long time,” the insider said.
The same source continued to say that Kardashian is also trying hard to deal with her ex’s behavior and she feels that it’s time for Odom to move on.
Maxim reported that Thompson and Odom nearly came to blows about this very topic about a year ago. Kardashian tried to arrange a meeting at her house between the two men that quickly escalated to near violence. She reportedly said she will never have the two men in the same room again.
The insider who talked about this subject with Hollywood Life said that Kardashian feels very uncomfortable every time Odom talks about their defunct relationship during interviews.
The last time that Odom talked about Khloe was with “Access Hollywood”:
“To tell you the truth, it couldn’t happen to a better person. I was happy for her,” he said.
“If she could take care of a grown man for four years the way she took care of me, I know she could take care of a baby,” he said and then added, “That will be a spoiled a– baby.”
Back in January, Odom told Maxim magazine that he understood his relationship with Kardashian is over permanently. But he took pains to point out she was dating her second or third NBA ballplayer.
