Kanye West recently made a comeback on social media to announce the release of several new projects. Along with his new album, he posted that he would be producing albums by Nas, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, and a joint project with Kid Cudi.

However, Kanye West also caused a backlash due to his support of Candace Owens. Owens is a Black conservative who often speaks out against the interest of the Black community. She doesn’t believe that racism is an issue and once said, “Racism exists, but it is far less rampant than ignorance, and ignorance can be cured through experience.” Owens also blasted Black Lives Matter and said the group suffered from victim’s mentality. “Black people that are focused on their past and shouting about slavery and black people that are focused on their futures,” she said.

Bevy Smith decided to blast Kanye for his support of Owens and her toxic views.

“Kanye is the most dangerous type of Black celebrity! He actively fights against what is right for us as a community and because of fame, White supremacists will use his warped, self loathing views as ‘proof’ that things aren’t so bad for us! News alert – Kanye doesn’t speak for US,” Smith posted on Twitter.

Smith’s assessment of Kanye is on point. He’s made several questionable moves that are totally against the people who support him the most. When Trump was elected as president, West was photographed with him at Trump Towers in New York. Trump met with several famous Black people, but he has yet to implement any legislation that would improve the lives of Black America.

By supporting Trump  and Owens, Kanye is supporting everything that he once stood against such as bigotry, racism, and sexism. He can’t tell Black people to stop focusing on racism when unarmed Blacks are being murdered in the streets by police. If our civil rights leaders of the past would have told us to “stop focusing on race,” Blacks would still be living in Jim Crow

Owens, who is a Trump supporter, is a confused Black woman who embraces White supremacist views in order to promote her own brand. If Kanye is willing to follow her lead, his fans should think twice about supporting his music.
