R&B singer and songwriter Jussie Smollett recently performed at Washington, D.C.’s Emancipation Day concert at Freedom Plaza. Smollett, a four-time NAACP Image Award winner, is known for his musically liberating character Jamal on Fox TV’s “Empire.” In addition, Smollett released a new album, Sum of My Music, that turns up with contemplative lyrics that focus on the honesty and complexity of relationships. As a result, he brings a fresh level of consciousness about heartache, hurt, pain, lovin’, and making it last forever. Especially relevant are Smollett’s vocals filling the air with fluid syncopation, showing off effortless and ultra smooth tones in songs like “Smile” and “Catch Your Eye (featuring Swizz Beatz).”
Furthermore, when Smollett croons, fans will go to a sexy mind space while listening to other hits like “Staycation.” Their spirits will soar on a journey of love, liberation and freedom. Sum of My Music is straight up sexy, and so is Smollett. Finally, his songs will make fans melt, dance, and fall in love, over and over again.
“I love rolling out!”Jussie Smollett said in an interview.
