Omarosa Manigault Newman is one of the most detested public figures in Black America — if not the entire country at this point. Nevertheless, the former White House communications director has the entire Trump family dancing around landmines because of secret recordings that Omarosa keeps releasing to the national media with devastating impact.
These surreptitious phone recordings come on the heels of a bombshell book, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House, released this past week.
According to MSNBC, the recording shows that Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law, was trying to buy Omarosa’s silence with cushy a $180K job for the upcoming 2020 re-election campaign. Lara Trump allegedly offered the deal after the family got wind of the New York Times article that said Omarosa might write a tell-all book about her dealings with the family after she was fired from the Trump White House.
In the recordings, Lara Trump made it unequivocally clear that if Omarosa came back on board with the Trump team on the 2020 re-election campaign, she’d have to swear silence on all she heard and witnessed about Trump in the past.
Omarosa, 44, saw it unquestionably as a bribe:
In an interview with MSNBC, Omarosa — she is known mostly by her first name — said the recording was proof of “an attempt” by the Trump team “to buy my silence, to censor me, and to pay me off.”
When she was asked if the campaign job offer was “hush money,” Omarosa quickly answered with “Absolutely.”
