A Florida man became so enraged that his former girlfriend had moved on with another man that he brutally attacked the new lover and cut off the man’s penis, leaving him for dead.

Justin Foster, 28, is sitting in Cook County Jail in Chicago on $1M bond for attempted murder, the Miami Herald reports.

Chicago police stated in a report that Foster could not get over the fact that his girlfriend had dumped him and moved on with her life. Therefore, Foster booked a flight from Tallahassee, Florida, to Chicago, rented a car and drove to Des Plaines, Illinois, about a half-hour drive northwest of the Windy City.

His sole intention, the newspaper said, was to confront the man she was allegedly dating. When Foster found the unidentified man in the street, he immediately ambushed the unsuspecting man by hitting him in the head with a tire iron.

Law enforcement said Foster then carved his initials into the incapacitated male victim’s leg. Then, in a final act of savagery, he cut off the 26-year-old man’s penis. Foster threw the man’s penis over a fence and dragged his unconscious body behind a parked car to shield him from public view, leaving the man lying in a pool of blood.

Afterward, Foster drove back to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, returned the rental car and flew back to Tallahassee.

The male victim survived the heinous attack, but he suffered permanent brain damage from the blunt force trauma caused from being hit in the head with the tire iron.

Foster was arrested in his hometown on Aug. 20 and, after a few days, was extradited back to Chicago to face charges.

The media just learned of this brutal crime this past week during the bond hearing when the state attorney general’s office argued against giving Foster any bail.

“We’re talking about a very heinous crime here,” Assistant State’s Attorney Luis Muniz said, arguing that Foster is a danger to society as well as the ex-girlfriend.  “A monetary bond is not appropriate.”

The judge eventually decided to hold Foster on the million-dollar bail and he remains in Cook County.
