Beyoncé’s Coachella performance was a culture-shifting moment for this generation. Although Beyoncé’s bold and Black show spawned an inspirational Netflix documentary and live album, Homecoming, the “Crazy in Love” singer was reportedly still slighted in terms of pay.
Ariana Grande, who is the headlining act for this year’s festival, was paid $8 million for her Coachella set, according to Variety. In contrast, Beyoncé, who was the first Black woman to headline the festival, received between $3 and $4 million for her awe-inspiring Coachella performance that became known as Beychella.
Beyoncé’s Beyhive (her fan base) shared their frustrations about the unequal pay on social media.
Beyonce performed for 2 hours straight while doing more then Ariana did in that entire performance. The woman was even acting on the stage for a performance, that definitely is goat status. Ariana is amazing but not on the level of Beyonce. pic.twitter.com/ltaTPA1nhi

So Ariana Grande got paid twice the amount Beyoncé did for Coachella? What kind of madness?!

I’d like to know what Gaga received for her Coachella performance. It was vastly better than Ariana’s but of course it didn’t pale in comparison to what Beyoncé did. However, they’re both white women, & y’all already know white women are *always* paid more than WoC.
