Gwen Baxter, one of the founders of the Sisterhood, an organization for mothers who have lost children to violence, is a pillar of strength when it comes to supporting others. She is consistently a source of love and encouragement to those who have lost their children to violence. Mrs. Baxter’s son Larry Darnell Harper Jr. was taken from her a few days before Christmas in 2003. Baxter shared the feelings she has around holidays like Mother’s Day and she also takes a moment to speak with her deceased son.
