Rapper Remy Ma hopes to be completely vindicated of the assault charges hanging over her now that her accuser has also been arrested.
Fellow “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Brittney Taylor, who accused Remy of punching her in the eye, was apprehended after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a witness in New York.
According to Page Six, Taylor, 30, got into a heated conversation inside a woman named Dina Khalil’s apartment where she scratched her on the face. Her temper reportedly did not simmer down as she followed Khalil into the lobby and threw a cell phone at her face.
What Taylor and Khalil were arguing about has not been revealed as of yet. Taylor was arrested on the scene and appeared before a judge in court before being released on her own recognizance, according to Page Six.
The entire fracas started in April 2019 when Remy, 39, who was born Reminisce Smith, allegedly gave Taylor a sinker over her eye after an argument at the Pretty Lou Benefit Concert in New York. Remy has been charged with assault.
Remy’s lawyer, Eric Sanders, claims that Taylor’s arrest now presents credibility problems in her assault case against Remy.
“Obviously this arrest creates a major credibility issue for the prosecution and [Taylor’s lawyer in the case] Mr. Rubenstein to contend with,” Sanders said in a statement to Page Six. “Either way, we intend to continue pressing forward to ensuring Remy is totally vindicated.”
