Atlanta based author Derrick A. Pickett is an established writer with 6 published books who’s made his mantra “Bet on You.” Most of Pickett’s books focus on credit restoration and self-focus in the power of belief. After once finding himself in a rough situation, Pickett turned his pain into passion. He started writing and never stopped.
After publishing his first book and seeing the fruits of his labor changing lives; Derrick realized that all people needed was the motivation to believe in themselves. Pickett has definitely been a change agent with a national platform to help others through the wisdom in his books.

Why should you read every day?
People should read daily because it stimulates the mind and most of all, it’s always good to try to learn something new every day.
That I should always bet on myself and believe in me more than I believe in anyone else.
How important is keeping your word?
Keeping your word is the most important thing that a person can do because it helps define how people see you.
When it comes to protecting yourself at all times, physically and mentally, what would you tell your children?
That you should always protect yourself mentally and physically, because if you can protect your mind, then you can protect your body.
What advice would you give on being responsible for your own dreams?
That you must always go after … your dreams and that if you don’t go after them no one else will.
