The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, aka The Consortium, provides Black and Hispanic students with an opportunity to become executives in corporate America through a free sponsored Master of Business Administration program at some of the nation’s best colleges and universities.
Not only does The Consortium supply the schools with highly qualified African American and Hispanic students, but it also supplies the support and understanding necessary to remove obstacles too many of those students face in order to receive an MBA.
An MBA increases your opportunity to break through the glass ceiling, move into active leadership positions and ascend to the highest rungs of the corporate ladder.
It is important that individuals take full advantage of those skills, informational videos, past student experiences and visits available to them when seeking an MBA. When selecting schools, also think about the competition, demographics and industry specialty.
The Consortium is after those hidden gems, so be sure to share this with as many friends as you can so that the community is made aware. In addition, consider joining the National Black MBA Association Inc., which has chapters in many cities where you can network with individuals who already have an MBA and find a mentor who can assist you throughout the process. Joining the Black MBA also will strengthen your awareness of your career path selections of major schools.
You don’t already have to have an MBA to join the Black MBA, but you’ll be joining a group whose members have experience successfully getting into an MBA program. Many of those Black MBAs also have experience with The Consortium.
Visit the National Black MBA Association to find a chapter and mentor near you. For more information about how The Consortium can help you get into the MBA program of your choice, go to https://cgsm.org/building-
