Black Florida protester found dead after tweeting she had been sexually assaulted

Many family and friends had taken to the streets to try to find Salau but to no avail.

Salau’s closest confidante said she had a soul-shuddering premonition about her friend when Salau first went missing.

“I had a feeling that we were not going to find Toyin alive,” said Danaya Hemphill, 22, according to USA Today. Now that her friend is gone, Hemphill said she needs for her friend’s premature passing to stand for something.

“Toyin was very passionate,” Hemphill added. “She was very vocal she was very loving, very spiritual, very caring.”
