Cast of Tyler Perry’s ‘BRUH’ bring stories of Black manhood to TV

Tell us about your experience shooting at Tyler Perry’s fast pace.

Mahdi Cocci: Season one took longer, but I think that when you watch season two, there’s an improvement just in everything. Our chemistry has grown, our confidence has grown, the story is even more intricate with plot and everything. So, the speed and the pace at which we shoot is not the determining factor in the quality of what we produce.

Will the season touch on any topics about being a Black man in America today and police brutality?

Barry Brewer: We did talk about that and touch on those subjects. I really appreciated Mr. Perry allowing these stories to speak to the reality of what we feel as African American men.
