PR maven Helen Shelton is the new chief diversity officer at FINN Partners

“I have known and worked with Helen Shelton for more than 25 years, and in that time, I have seen her grow as a communications professional and diversity champion with an unwavering passion and commitment to being of service,” said Peter Finn, Founding Partner and CEO, Finn Partners. “Helen embodies the principles I set out to achieve for Finn Partners, and is a widely respected leader, advisor and advocate in the PR industry overall and within the FINN global community. In her new role as our first-ever Global Chief Diversity Officer, she will amplify our DEI efforts and continue to be the engine that drives us towards even greater heights.”

Shelton is a sought-after DEI advisor to many FINN clients working to make it a priority in the workplace, integrating it into recruitment efforts and ensuring it has a positive impact on their organizations. She works across industries and practices; within the agency, Shelton is a trusted colleague, friend and counselor, and she will continue to advise FINN senior leadership and global human resources team on DEI education and workplace best practices.

“Diversity and inclusion is not a trending topic for me – it is something that I have been committed to throughout my career,” said Shelton. “It is an honor to work alongside Peter Finn, our DEI Committee, and my colleagues around the world to have this direct impact on our agency culture and on the industry overall. It’s an exciting time for our industry and it is very encouraging to see others joining us in taking up the charge, while we continue to lead with passion and service.”

Recently, Finn Partners launched Partners for Diversity, a mentorship initiative in collaboration with PRSSA and HBCUs across the country.
