You say Atlanta drives the culture. What makes you feel that way?
Atlanta influences everything. Atlanta sound and culture have just influenced hip-hop as a whole. Then it’s one of the places where you can work and hustle in the clubs and work your record among the DJs, and local radio will pick you up. You can’t say that about every market.
Who has your ear right now?
I’m a big fan of some of the up-and-coming artists on QC [Music]. I like Lakeyah a lot. I’ve been a fan of Bankroll Freddie. I like to see Lil Migo, who signed with Yo Gotti. Renni Rucci. Toosii is dope. Lil Poppa out of Jacksonville [Florida]. I like this kid Hylan Starr and MadMarcc with Wolf Pack [Global Music], [and] Felixx, [an] R&B singer out of Atlanta.
