Even though the series is set in the 1980s, why did you go for the nostalgic look over a more updated design as far as the animation style?

JH: I mean there’s nothing more iconic than the ’80s, right? The clothes, the hair, the music. Growing up, I used to dance, moonwalking in my socks. Plus, given how influenced I was by Scooby-Doo I decided to model the look after some of their newer revival series that blends classic animation with the look and feel of our newer capabilities.

How did actor Jeremy Sisto get on board?

DS: Jeremy is a friend of mine. He and I worked together on the original “Law & Order” franchise, known in the industry as “The Mothership.” I created a television pilot some years ago, and Jeremy was a part of it, and ever since he and I have been friends. He is like my brother. So, when I spoke with him about “DARWEEN” and sent him the pilot episode, he was hooked. He wanted in and we wanted him to be in.
