Lil Baby is part of the new generation of rappers, athletes and entertainers who not only believe in entrepreneurship, but feel compelled to give some of their wealth back to the community that catapulted them to superstar status.
This past weekend, the “My Turn” emcee took it to another level with his philanthropy by buying up an Atlanta Footlocker’s entire inventory of sneakers for his hometown community.

A member of Lil Baby’s entourage captured a video showing him and the entire roster of store employees marching in a procession out of the store with numerous sacks of sneakers. When the video went viral, Lil Baby, aka Dominique Jones, 26, told his 16 million Instagram followers the motivation behind this gesture.
Baby finished the thought, saying “That was some s— ’cause I seen a lot of them had on flip flops. When I say save [my] community, I mean centers, programs, jobs. You can’t imagine the s— I don’t post…”
This altruistic act comes weeks after the Quality Control rapper journeyed with the family of the late George Floyd for a trip to The White House. There, Lil Baby implored President Joe Biden to sign the George Floyd Police Act bill. Lil Baby also launched The Bigger Picture initiative where he gifted 1,000 coats to residents of Birmingham, Alabama.
Lil Baby is also working on entrepreneurial ventures as well. Accorrding to XXL, Lil Baby will open a restaurant in Atlanta later this year. The establishment will feature a diverse menu, including lamb chops and lobster tails.
