New Orleans: in 2018, 70% of newly diagnosed HIV cases and 72% of newly diagnosed AIDS cases were among blacks. Blacks also accounted for 70% of chlamydia diagnoses, 75% of gonorrhea diagnoses, and 64% of P&S syphilis diagnoses in the state. It is estimated that 229,418 Blacks live in New Orleans (59.53%) and they represent most of the HIV cases (6,911), chlamydia cases (8,190) and gonorrhea cases (3,004) in the city.
