Pheonix Suns sharpshooter Devin Booker alerted NBA fans that he has contracted the novel coronavirus and may miss the beginning of training camp.
Booker, who has been dating Kendall Jenner for the past several months and has vacationed across the globe with her, said that he is suffering from a lack of taste and smell since he contracted the virus over a week ago.
The shooting guard explained on his Twitch stream that, otherwise, his bout with COVID-19 has been relatively unremarkable and that he is just waiting to ride it out.
“I got the ‘vid, man,” Booker said. “Honestly, I’m feeling straight, man. Only thing that I’m dealing with is no taste, no smell. Which is the worst part of it.”
“But,” Booker continued, “I’m about a week in. I’m going to be back in no time. No time.”

The Phoenix Suns organization said Booker will miss the start of training camp which begins on Sept. 28. The 2021-22 NBA season commences on Oct. 19.
The rising superstar declined to confirm if he is fully vaccinated or not, but would only quip on the live stream that “you can still get COVID with the vaccine.”
Booker’s condition could have major consequences if he suffers any long-term ramifications from the virus. Booker is a crucial component to the Suns’ quest to defend its Western Conference title and return to the NBA Finals. Booker averaged 25.6 points, 4.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game during the 2020-21 season.
Furthermore, the two-time NBA All-Star ratcheted up his production to an impressive 27.3 points a night in the postseason and had the Suns two games from winning a title.
To top it off, Booker earned a gold medal with Team USA in the Olympics in Tokyo this past summer.
