The rapper born Tauheed K. Epps graduated second in his class from North Clayton High School where he played basketball before continuing on to play collegiate ball at Alabama State University in the 1990s.
He shared how his love for both basketball and College Park culminated in his position with the Skyhawks.
“Basketball has always been my primary love, I’ve played since I was 7 years old, [and] College Park has always been a part of me, I graduated high school from College Park, it seemed like the right thing to do,” he said.
Miller has equally high hopes for the upcoming season.
“We just want to bring basketball back to College Park. We [also] want to develop players for the Hawks and future opportunities in the NBA, and give our staff an opportunity to develop in their careers,” she said.
Miller, the first woman to become a general manager in the G League, added, “By G League rules, we can only invite three guys from these tryouts to training camp. It’s a hard chance to get in there.”
After coming off a long break due to COVID interrupting the 2019-2020 season, the Skyhawks are eager to return to the court, which will happen when their season tips off in November.
