Amid battles over DMX’s estate, a Georgia woman has come forward claiming to be the 15th child of the rapper who died in April 2021.
Raven Barmer-Simmons contacted the late rapper’s other children to share that he was also her father. She and the other 14 alleged children will need to confirm paternity with a DNA test.
On Friday, Oct. 22, Judge Helen Blackwood appointed three of DMX’s sons, Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons, as the temporary administrators of the estate of their father.
The late rapper’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, who is the mother of his 5-year-old son, Exodus, filed to legally be declared his common-law wife but was denied.
Lindstrom — along with the late rapper’s older daughters, Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden — also petitioned the court to be administrators of his estate.
“The next big thing is to determine who are the rightful heirs. The estate is going to ask everyone to prove paternity through DNA testing. All the legal children of DMX will be entitled to an equal share of his estate,” Herbert Nass, the attorney for the three Simmons sons, told the New York Post.
Nass added that the lack of a will has made for additional complications in setting up the estate.
Hip-hop legend DMX died at 50 on April 9, 2021, after a heart attack.
