The Atlanta Hawks’ 6th Man Section has returned with a new level of petty this season.
On Dec. 5, 2021, in the Charlotte Hornets 130-127 win against Atlanta, Hawks fans began chanting “Brittany Renner” when Hornets forward PJ Washington was at the free throw line.
Renner, a social media influencer with over 4.6 million Instagram followers, is the mother of Washington’s son and his former partner.
Renner commented on the chant.
“[Laughing emojis] glad you made it though BD [baby daddy],” she tweeted.

Over the past week, Renner has responded to Washington’s apparent subtle posts about her.
“I don’t have any secrets … but you do!!!” she tweeted.
On Dec. 1, Washington tweeted, “Once again, stop the cap.”
“I have 127 screenshots and 30 videos … what you wanna do?” Renner responded to Washington.
The Hornets forward also tweeted people live “fake lives.”
Renner responded, “Agreed! It’s crazy, bruh.”
When Washington tweeted the clown emoji, Renner asked where her son was.
The 6th Man Section is a group of approximately 100 diehard Hawks fans who receive a free ticket to home games if they stand and cheer for the Hawks the entire game. The section has had other viral chants in the past, including “LeBron will trade you” and “LeBron will leave you” at Cleveland Cavaliers players in 2018. That off-season, LeBron James left the Cavaliers for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Charlotte earned the road win without LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee and Jalen McDaniels.
