6 telltale signs that you’re a people pleaser

You want everyone to like you and are deeply upset if they don’t.

Human beings generally have a desire to be liked, but many people pleasers find that they have a deep-rooted need for external validation. They can sometimes find themselves questioning their worth if people dislike them, and their overall confidence revolves around how people perceive them.

You struggle to voice your opinions.

People pleasers generally have a hard time voicing their opinions because they want to avoid conflict at all costs. They might not speak up during group conversations and even find themselves letting others make decisions for them so that they don’t come off as disagreeable.

You rarely ask for help.

If it’s hard to ask for help, you could be worried about feeling like a burden to the people around you, which is another clear sign of being a people pleaser. You might want everyone to believe that you don’t need them and that you can do everything on your own, but unable to realize that you’re running yourself into the ground.

You avoid confrontation even when it’s a disservice to you.

People pleasers often find themselves agreeing with everyone or not admitting when their feelings are hurt just to keep the peace.
