What is the significance of being a McDonald’s owner-operator?

Thomas III: You’re the person who’s making sure that you’re getting up every morning to get in there and get things going in the restaurant. For me, being an owner at McDonald’s, I really enjoy the opportunity to be creative. It is important to me to be creative with how I’m addressing my customers. I’m creative with different types of incentives or initiatives that I want to do in the business to promote more business. Creativity comes into play with how I train and help to develop my team.

I 100 percent enjoy being a second-generation McDonald’s owner-operator and having a business that I’m able to step into and bring to the next level. What I take on from that is that I have a team of people who have been working with my family for the past 20 to 30 years. This team has its own family and I wholeheartedly take on that. Part of my responsibility is to continue allowing them to be gainfully employed and provide opportunities.
