Tenill Ransom delivers faith-based messages in her new film, ‘Spoken’

Why is it important for Christian filmmakers to explore faith-based themes in their work?

Because the films that people make touch their heart. People are going through a lot, and it’s important for filmmakers to capture that, to capture the trials and tribulations and the journeys that everybody goes on. When people see our film, they see themselves [in] our characters, they see themselves and what this person is going through, and they see these individuals overcoming it through their faith. So it will encourage them to do the same thing. It’s important to have that content out there, content that edifies, that builds people up, that inspires them, that motivates them and just pushes them to learn more about God and have that relationship with him. We want everybody to have a life of peace and to live a life of joy. We want people just to enjoy life more. You can’t do that if you’re always anxious, always worried, always overwhelmed with guilt and condemnation or shame. We want people to be free from all that. A life with Christ is very liberating.
