On Aug. 9, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said a new indictment is bringing more charges against Young Thug.
The Atlanta rapper is now facing an additional gang charge, additional drug charges, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a machine gun.
The new charges result from an arrest that occurred on March 17 as well as a raid on Thug’s Buckhead home on May 9, which was the day that he was arrested. Thug was hit with seven additional felonies to the RICO indictment when authorities raided his home.
Many of the new charges against Thug and two of the other defendants stem from what the DA’s office and Atlanta police found in the rapper’s home the day of his arrest.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis says the new indictment includes 28 defendants from the indictment in May that focuses on the gang “Young Slime Life.”
Thug, Gunna, and more than two dozen members of the YSL group have been in jail for the past three months for felony charges, including the RICO statute, that could have them in prison for decades if they are convicted.
Thug and Gunna have also been denied bond until their trial begins in January 2023.
