On Nov. 11, Nas released his 16th album, King’s Disease III. At 49, the rap icon continues to make music, but someone thinks that he’s only relevant because of his fans.
During a recent Clubhouse chat, 21 Savage got into a debate about Nas, and he offered his thoughts about why he thinks he’s still making noise in the industry.
“What y’all [are] saying [is he’s] relevant, though,” 21 Savage said. “I don’t think he’s relevant. I just feel like he got fans.”
Savage continued to double down on his comments as others in the Clubhouse chat began to weigh in.

“He’s not relevant, he just has a loyal a– fan base,” 21 Savage said. “He has a loyal fan base and he still makes good a– music.
Once social media got wind of 21 Savage’s comments, the counteroffensive was launched.
21 Savage and Nas got two totally different fan bases and that’s ok. But to say Nas is irrelevant a year after he won a Grammy for best rap album is crazy.

21 Savage ain’t need to open his mouth on Nas’ relevancy.
Really just a dumb discussion. If he’s able to be doing tours 30 years from now, I’m sure the bell will ring on that.

21 Savage calling Nas "irrelevant" and saying that "he just has a fanbase" is crazy. Somebody that released their first album 30 years ago and is still able to have a fanbase is proof of…relevance & a significant one at that.

Savage eventually backtracked his comments, and on Nov. 14 he tried to make amends on Twitter.
“I would never disrespect Nas or any legend who paved the way for me, y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it,” 21 Savage tweeted.
I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it 🤦🏾♂️
