Fans were enthralled by legendary singer Mariah Carey and her 11-year-old daughter Monroe harmonizing on the iconic holiday single “Away in a Manger” during Carey’s “Merry Christmas to All” tour at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Carey, who shares Monroe with multi-hyphenate entertainer and prolific father Nick Cannon, sang synchronously on the high notes when she joined her daughter onstage.
The full special will be available to watch on Paramount+. However, as part of a Paramount Global cross-company collaboration, MTV will offer additional opportunities to view the special after the CBS broadcast.

Carey has become the modern queen of Christmas music.
This TV special comes on the heels, and in fact was powered by, Carey’s phenomenal success musically during the holiday season since she no longer occupies the top spot in pop culture that she enjoyed during the 1990s and early 2000s.
The smash hit single “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” co-written with Walter Afanasieff, generated 1.7 billion song consumption units in the United States in 2021, according to Luminate. Of that number, “48,000 were from track downloads, 200 million came from on-demand audio streams, 52.5 million came from video on-demand streams and 24 million from programmed streams.”
Billboard estimates that “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” has brought in a bag of $1.36 million for Carey and her label, Sony Music. The magazine also calculates that the master recording revenue has earned Carey another $1.55 million, leaving Sony with $2.95 million.
