During the Super Bowl LVII halftime performance, Rihanna showed up and showed out for the millions watching. For the third straight year, the halftime show has headlined Black performers, including The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar.
So who will headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas? Here is a list of potential suitors for the performance.
Jay-Z
Many thought that Jay-Z would make a guest appearance alongside Rihanna when she performed “Run This Town” and “Umbrella,” but it looks like he just wanted to enjoy the show as a fan instead. It feels like it’s only right that Hova gets on the big stage one time, especially after his wife and his Roc Nation peer have already done it.
Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj has a large enough discography and hit songs to wow the crowd for one of the biggest performances of the year. Not only can she deliver melodic music, she also has songs for hip-hop fans. If she wanted to bring out special guests, these next two people on the list could potentially be there, or they could headline the show themselves.
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is one of the best rappers of his generation, and with the recent shift in Super Bowl LVI with hip-hop performances, it would not be a surprise to see him as a headliner. Lil Wayne built an empire with the rap group Young Money, which is where Minaj became popular, as well as this next person on the list.
Drake
Drake is one of the artists at the top of the music industry today. The Toronto native has music for almost any demographic, which would fit perfectly for the Super Bowl halftime performance. Drake has also been doing a lot of concerts recently, so don’t be shocked if he takes interest in this one.
Lizzo
Lizzo has continued to climb the ladder as one of the artists that everyone is listening to now, which could make her a potential headliner for the halftime performance. After winning Record of the Year at the 2023 Grammys, she has the potential to draw new fans to the big game.
Usher
There has been a recent debate on social media about Usher not having the type of hits that would excite a Super Bowl crowd, but at the end of the day, a hit is a hit. Usher is capable enough to have a 15-minute performance and have the crowd jumping out of their seats.
