Sisqó would like a word with Mario about his R&B Mt. Rushmore list.

Earlier in October 2023, Mario was stopped by TMZ and was asked about who is on his R&B Mt. Rushmore.

“Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and me,” Mario said. He then gave an explanation of why he put himself on the list.

“I grew up listening to so many different types of music because of my mother and grandmother, so I have two generations of soul music, and great R&B that I grew up to,” Mario said. “My voice, I feel like I can do a little bit of everything.”

Sisqó, who’s been a part of the R&B landscape for decades with the prominent music group Dru Hill, heard about Mario’s Mt. Rushmore take, and told TMZ how he felt about the list.

“Mario’s from Baltimore, right?” Sisqó said. “Did he sell more records than me? I don’t know. It’s a numbers game ain’t it? We’ve known Mario since he was younger. He’s always been a fantastic singer. As an artist, you’ve got to have that confidence, so more power to you. However, you got to sell more than the dragon coming from Baltimore if you wanna be on the Mt. Rushmore.”

As a solo artist, Sisqó has had a few hits such as “Thong Song,” but Mario might have a better résumé with his songs.
