Why is Encore at the National Black MBA Association 2023 annual conference?
Our company has attempted and has made efforts to grow in our diversity over the last several years, including nine business resource groups, Black and African American being one of them. We just felt this was a place to come and help grow our diversity.
Our CEO came to this event a couple of years ago and said we need to do a booth here, so this is our second year. We feel like we’re growing, we’re getting a lot of good candidates and I think we’ll continue to do it through the future.
What does Encore do?
We’re an event technology production company. We handle audio and visual for events such as this one. We’re actually the event technology provider for this event. Microphones, lighting, all those types of things that make the event pop, and make the message come through strong and clear.
What are three production tips you have for people working on events?
One, start your planning early. I think a lot of times people tend to add on their production needs late but start their production early. Allow the professionals to guide you. We’re good professionals, we do this all the time, so take their advice seriously.
Make sure we’re not the last thing on your budget. Putting good money and investing in good production helps them make the event flow well as much as possible.
