NFL Hall of Famer and legend Deion Sanders and music industry giant Tracey Edmonds have announced their relationship has run its course.
The Colorado Buffaloes head football coach, aka “Prime Time,” and Edmonds have called off their engagement after dating for nearly 12 years. Edmonds was famously married to songwriting and producing icon Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds for many years before being briefly married to venerated comedian Eddie Murphy.
Edmonds and Sanders jointly informed their supporters and fans through a post to Edmonds’ 380,000 Instagram followers.
“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love … we have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together.”
“Love u Tracey and You’ve been a true blessing to me,” Sanders commented on Edmonds’ post. “I appreciate the times we’ve shared, and the laughs we’ve had. You are an amazing woman and a tremendous mother. God bless u with every endeavor and every step u take. You are HER. Tracey-Mack!!!”
Neither divulged the specifics of what precipitated the breakup after more than a decade together. Edmonds and Sanders reportedly met in 2012 before getting engaged in 2019.
This past year, however, has been a tumultuous one for Sanders in Boulder, Colorado, and it has taken its toll on the coach and his players. After resuscitating the moribund football program at the University of Colorado and reigniting its fan base with a 3-0 record to start the season, the team nosedived after facing powerhouse teams during the meat of its schedule.
The Buffaloes lost the final six games of the year to finish last in the PAC 12 Conference, with a 1-8 record and 4-8 record overall.
