Cardi B wasn’t kidding when she said she was going to drop “dead weight” and start anew in 2024.
The load that Cardi was talking about unburdening herself with happens to be her estranged husband, fellow rap star Offset of Migos fame.
Most of pop culture knew instantly whom the Invasion of Privacy raptress was referring to when she posted the following cryptic Instagram posts:
On Sunday, Dec. 10, Cardi returned to IG and confirmed for fans what they had already surmised: she and Offset are no longer together.
“I don’t know if y’all have been getting clues from me from my Live, I mean … or from my Instagram Stories, where I put certain music. When it comes to events and stuff, I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out because I have been single for a minute now,” Cardi B said in an Instagram Story.
“I have been afraid to … not afraid, but I just don’t know how to tell the world. I feel like today has been like a sign. The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you, but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind. “
Cardi and Offset, both 31, gave the first indication of their split last week when they unfollowed each other on Instagram, the modern era’s version of letting folks know that two people are no longer together.
Another way that fans discerned their estrangement, was when Offset performed at the Art Basil in Miami over the weekend and Cardi was nowhere in sight. Cardi also modeled on a runway in New York and Offset was conspicuously absent.
The former music power couple got married in 2017. But they split up shortly after the birth of their daughter, Kulture, who is now five. In 2018, Cardi told her fans that she was “working things out.” They split again in 2020 when Cardi filed for divorce, but she later withdrew the divorce filing.
This comes right after Blueface took to X on Sunday to claim that Offset had sexual relations with his ex-girlfriend Chrisean Rock, which the Migos rapper vehemently denies.
“I ain’t never talk [to] or touch that lady. Real talk man, you need some help!” Offset tweeted in response.
