A handful of Black women received awards at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys and Golden Globe Awards. As far as Black men, Sam Richardson won his first Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

Jasmine Guy
Popular longtime actress Jasmine Guy won the first Emmy of her career with Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series award for “Chronicles of Jessica Wu.”

Storm Reid
Storm Reid won her first Emmy for Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “The Last of Us.”
“I was going to post some pretty pictures, but ‘Haha!” Reid said in an Instagram post, showing off her trophy.

Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer became the first woman in 15 years to win a Best Game Show Host Emmy for hosting NBC’s “Password.”

Ayo Edebiri
The 28-year-old comedian and actress won her first Emmy for Best TV Comedy Actress in “The Bear.” In her speech, she thanked her fellow castmates, her family, assistants and managers.
“I’m really grateful,” Edebiri said. “If I forgot to thank you, I’m sorry. Unless you were mean or something.”
