12 of the grandest appearances on the 2024 Golden Globe red carpet

The 81st Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton on Jan. 7 in California, was a star-studded event showcasing some of the best fashion moments of 2024. The red carpet was ablaze with stunning ensembles, each one more captivating than the last.

First, Janelle James of “Abbott Elementary” stole the spotlight in a black and neon green couture look reminiscent of Beyoncé’s Renaissance styles. The off-the-shoulder black velvet dress, paired with a high leg and dramatic train, was a showstopper.


The “9-1-1” actress Angela Bassett opted for a classic look, featuring an off-the-shoulder sleeved velvet gown. Her cropped wavy bob and dark red accessories added the perfect finishing touches.

Jennifer Lopez dazzled in a grand, rose floral off-the-shoulder gown with a cascading train. The singer and actress looked every bit the diva she is.


Quinta Brunson of “Abbott Elementary” channeled royalty in a high-neck silver dress with mesh detailing. The simplicity of the design was its strength, making Brunson a vision of elegance.

Dua Lipa, singer and Barbie actress, turned heads in a black and gold detailed dress with a mermaid bottom, showing off a daring side.

Selena Gomez brought a fun element to the red carpet with a crimson silk asymmetrical dress. The singer and actress looked radiant and youthful.

Issa Rae, producer and actress, looked like a Golden Globe herself in an antique, long-sleeved beaded dress. Her slick back hairstyle added a modern edge to her look.

Taylor Swift wore a green metallic gown and shoulder-length waves which looked ethereal. The artist’s ensemble was a perfect blend of glamour and sophistication.

The media mogul and actress Oprah Winfrey promoted The Color Purple musical drama remake in a shimmery long-sleeved plum dress. The dress was a fitting tribute to the iconic film.

Fantasia Barrino of The Color Purple 2023 who played the character Celie, made a grand entrance in an off-the-shoulder tri-colored dress featuring black velvet, white diamonds and a lilac tulle mermaid bottom.

Lastly, Sheryl Lee Ralph of “Abbott Elementry” also embraced the black and neon trend with a dress featuring puff sleeves and a sleek finish. The actress looked stunning, rounding off the list of the best-dressed celebrities at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
