Rap veteran Fat Joe is twisting in the wind while trying to fumble out a rationale for buying Donald Trump’s sneaker line despite not supporting the former president.

The New York born-emcee, 53, told his six million Instagram followers that he has no intention of deserting the Democratic Party and voting for the former president.

However, the Bronx-bred lyricist, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, explained his decision to proudly purchase Trump’s Never Surrender kicks, specifically the exclusive Family & Friends edition.

“If you collect art, do you really know what [Jean-Michel] Basquiat was into?” he asked his viewers. “Do you know what Andy Warhol was into? Any of these artists that you were into? You love the art, so you get it. I guess they separate art from the person. Now, me as a sneaker collector, I had to get my hand on the Trumps.”

Fat Joe tried giving another example by evoking Kanye “Ye” West.
“But listen, I have thousands and thousands and thousands of pairs of sneakers. When everybody flipped on Kanye [West], I went and bought the two most exclusive Kanye’s ever,” Joe continued.

Joe concluded this stream of consciousness by clarifying that he is on the opposite side of the political spectrum from Trump.

“Once again, I’m not a Trumper,” he asserted. “I dislike Trump. I’m not voting for him — not now, not ever — but I’m a sneaker collector into the art.”

Fans were not buying Joe’s meek explanation and aired him out on social media.
